Hennock Parish Council

Hennock is a small rural parish on the eastern fringe of Dartmoor National Park, lying along the side of the Teign valley in the Teignbridge district of Devon. The parish takes in three settlements: Hennock village itself, Chudleigh Knighton, and Teign Village, and is best known locally for its cluster of Victorian and Edwardian reservoirs, Tottiford, Kennick and Trenchford, built between 1861 and 1903 to supply water to Torquay, and now popular with walkers and birdwatchers. The historic core of Hennock village sits on a shelf overlooking the valley and centres on the Grade I listed St Mary's Church, which dates to the 15th century and retains an important painted rood screen. Hennock Parish Council, comprising eleven councillors across two wards, manages local services including allotments, play parks, bus shelters and defibrillators, and sits below Teignbridge District Council and Devon County Council in the local government structure.
