Leigh Bridge

• Built of: granite rubble, a single humped segmental arch with rusticated voussoirs

Leigh Bridge carries the road over the Teign just west of Chagford. Sources differ on which river it spans, so we say it stands at the meeting of the North and South Teign. The Two Moors Way crosses it, and it is the starting point of the canoe run to Steps Bridge.

The Leigh Bridge Cross stands on a boulder above the road. It was put up as a memorial by Mr Clampitt in 1910, found broken in June 2013, and replaced by a new granite cross put up by the National Park in July 2019. Old guides use the bridge as the way to Teigncombe by Holy Street.
