- Role: member of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee; author of its eleventh and last annual report (1906)
- Fieldwork: Watern Oke hut circles, June and July 1905; two small cairns in the Tavy valley
- Published: Transactions of the Devonshire Association, vol. 38 (1906), pages 101 to 113, and the Tavy valley cairns report in the same volume
The Rev. Irvine Kempt Anderson (he signs himself Irvine K. Anderson, and the Association's proceedings call him the Rev. I. Kempt Anderson) took over the Dartmoor Exploration Committee's excavation work in the last years of its annual reports. In the summer of 1905 he camped on the hill at Watern Oke, where men dug the huts of the Watern Oke settlement for weeks; the Committee published his account in the Transactions in 1906 as its eleventh report.
The same volume carries his record of the exploration of two small cairns in the Tavy valley, where the men employed were largely from Mary Tavy. His reports are practical field records: what was dug, what lay in the burnt earth and charcoal, and what flints were found.
Dartmoor CAM names him among the Committee's later members, taking the list from Worth's Dartmoor.

Goldsmith’s Cross on Fox Tor Mires. Photograph by Glavind Strachan Photography“The atmosphere of Dartmoor deserves particular notice ; it is at all times humid. The rain, which frequently falls, almost without intermission, for many weeks together, is generally small; and resembles more a Scotch mist than a shower.”
