Hollow Tor

Devon

Hollow Tor sits on Blackslade Down at 370 metres, disguised from above as little more than a grassy mound beneath heather and gorse. Walk round the side and the granite reveals itself, stacked 5 or 6 metres high and clearly separate from the surrounding moorland. The views down to Widecombe are strong, with Hameldown rising beyond. There is good parking on the B3387 nearby, and no firing ranges to worry about here.
