Birdie's Kitchen

Birdie's Kitchen is the refreshment rooms at South Devon Railway, just off the A38 near Buckfastleigh. Run by Cordon Bleu chef Birdie Baker, it serves hand-made pizzas on Italian bases, premium breakfasts, cream teas, artisan coffee and locally sourced snacks. The café is licensed and welcomes walkers and visitors year-round.

The railway site itself offers plenty to explore: live steam trains run seasonally, there's a railway model shop, the Otters & Butterflies Farm, and easy access to River Dart walks. With extensive free parking and a relaxed atmosphere, it's a natural stop for anyone visiting this part of South Devon or exploring Dartmoor's edge.
