The Rising Sun is a relaxed family-run pub set in the countryside on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. With years of hospitality experience, the team focuses on quality food, genuine customer service, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The pub is entirely dog-friendly with water and treats provided, and unusually for the area, has a fenced grass area with haynets and water for safely tethering horses during a mid-hack refreshment break.
Open Thursday to Sunday (winter hours), the pub serves food during lunch and early evening slots. There's a large free car park, beer garden, real ale, real fire, and WiFi. It's the kind of place where walkers, riders, and locals feel equally at home—exactly what you'd want from a Dartmoor-edge pub.
