Emsworthy Rocks

Devon

Emsworthy Rocks is a small granite peak on the open moorland of central Dartmoor, unremarkable in height but characteristic of the scattered tors that punctuate this high plateau. The rocks themselves offer views across the surrounding moor, typical of the exposed granite outcrops that define Dartmoor's character.

The approach is straightforward moorland walking across open ground, with few obstacles but plenty of weather exposure. This is quiet country, away from the busier ridges and peaks, where the moor reveals itself in its most elemental form: gently rolling granite and heather, and the long sight lines that make Dartmoor's interior so distinctive.
