Dewerstone Rock

On walking routes: West Devon Way

Dewerstone Rock is a striking granite outcrop on the south-west corner of Wigford Down, near the River Plym. It is part of Dewerstone Wood and features named rock formations such as The Tower and The Devil's Rock. The area is owned by the National Trust and is popular with climbers. Local legend tells of Dewer, a demonic hunter who supposedly drove people to their deaths from the cliffs.
