Dewerstone Rock
Devon
Dewerstone Rock rises to 227 metres above sea level on the southern edge of Dartmoor, overlooking the Dart valley. The tor itself is a weathered granite outcrop, characteristic of the moor's high ground, with good views south and west across rolling moorland and the valleys beyond.
The walk to Dewerstone is accessible from the valley, making it a reasonable half-day outing for walkers exploring this part of the moor. The surrounding ground is typical Dartmoor heath and grassland, with the river valley providing a natural landmark and context for the tor's modest but distinctive presence in the landscape.
