This scheduled monument is a Bronze Age cairn, built as a burial structure and likely dating to the second millennium before Christ. The cairn contains a cist, a stone-built chamber that would have held human remains and grave goods. North of Gutter Tor, the cairn sits within Dartmoor's open landscape of moorland, granite outcrops and grassland.
