Warren in Whiddon Park is a scheduled monument preserving the earthworks of a medieval rabbit warren. Warrens were managed landscapes where rabbits, introduced to Britain by the Normans, were bred and harvested as a prized food source and fur. The site sits within the moorland landscape of Dartmoor's fringes, where such enclosures were established to exploit marginal land productively.
Today the warren survives as subtle but distinctive earthwork features across the ground.
