Wallaford Down

Wallaford Down is a quiet high point on Dartmoor's eastern plateau, marked by granite outcrops and the characteristic rough moorland turf that defines this part of the park. The tor sits at the meeting point of several paths and rough tracks, making it accessible from multiple directions across the open moor.
From the summit you look out across a landscape of rolling moorland, with views toward the valleys that drain away to the east and south. The exposed position offers the full experience of Dartmoor's high ground: weather, wind, and the sense of being out on the plateau. The walk here is straightforward moorland rambling, without the dramatic granite formations found at some of Dartmoor's more famous tors.
