Two hut circles and Kestor field system at Frenchbeer Rock

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1017483) describes two stone hut circles and part of a coaxial field system on a gentle spur above the valley of the South Teign River. Both huts have well-defined doorways facing south. The southern is 8.5 metres across inside, bounded by a double-faced upright-stone wall 3.4 metres wide and up to 1.8 metres high. The northern is 6.4 metres across inside, with a wall of upright stones 2 metres wide and 1.2 metres high. It lies in the parish of Chagford, about 0.5 km south-east of Middle Tor and 2.9 km south of Gidleigh.
The field system is at least four lengths of rubble walling that belong to the Kestor parallel reave system. The north-west and south-east lengths are parallel reaves, and the other two are cross reaves leading off the south-east parallel reave.
