Two hut circles, Yellowmeade Farm

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1020157) describes two stone hut circles and a length of walling on a gentle west-facing slope above the valley of the River Walkham. The western hut is 6 metres across inside, ringed by a double upright-stone wall 1.5 metres wide and up to 0.55 metres high, with a south-west gap that may be the doorway. The eastern hut has been a little damaged by stone robbing for the historic wall next to it, but its upright-stone wall still stands up to 0.75 metres high and 1.6 metres wide round a space 6 metres across. A wall of upright stones 1 metre wide and up to 0.8 metres high leads west from the western hut, turns south-west and then south, and is probably the visible part of an enclosure that went with the huts. It lies in the parish of Dartmoor Forest, about 0.8 km south-west of Hollow Tor and 2 km south-east of Merrivale.
