Two stone hut circles and a field 340m south west of Lints Tor

These two stone hut circles lie in open moorland south west of Lints Tor, their circular foundations still visible in the landscape. They date to the Bronze Age, when Dartmoor's higher ground supported scattered communities of farmers and herders who built these substantial roundhouses from stone.
The circles are modest but legible features in the heather and grass, part of a wider pattern of prehistoric settlement across the moor. Walking to them offers a sense of how people once inhabited this apparently remote country, making use of the upland pastures and building shelters that have endured for over three thousand years.
