Top Tor comprises three prominent granite stacks on high ground above Widecombe, distinguished by irregular fracturing and a notably ruined summit pile of broken, angular rock that's particularly striking from the north-west. The granite here shows interesting jointing patterns across the different outcrops. Local paths from the B3387 make it a quick walk, and the views extend across the eastern highlands towards Haytor and Saddle Tor. The tor is believed to be the location of 'Dream Tor' from Beatrice Chase's Dartmoor writing; Chase lived at nearby Venton and could see the rockpile before trees blocked the view.
