The Granite Way (album)
2025 · Honour Oak Records
The Granite Way is Seth Lakeman's thirteenth solo album, self-produced and released on 14 February 2025 on his own label, Honour Oak Records. His site describes it as songs recorded with longtime collaborators, referring to the ancient stories that inspired early West Country storytelling on albums like Kitty Jay and Freedom Fields.
Two tracks are Dartmoor songs: The Black Fox, about the legend of a supernatural guardian of the moors, and The Huntsman and the Moon, about Old Crockern, the Huntsman Devil. Reviewers place the rest elsewhere: Charlotte Dymond on Bodmin Moor, Louisa on Exmoor, and Born to the Strain on Devon's shipbuilding, tin mining and fishing. Roll Away the Years is mainly a fishing story, with one review noting a mention of Mount Misery.
Observation: only part of the album is Dartmoor material, so the listing treats it as a Dartmoor-linked work and points to the two songs.
