This scheduled monument is a hut circle, one of hundreds that dot Dartmoor and testify to Bronze Age settlement on the high moor. The site lies in open country southwest of Lints Tor, in an area where prehistoric communities built small clusters of stone-built homes, likely occupied seasonally or year-round for pastoralism and subsistence farming.
Today the circle appears as a low stone ring in the moorland grass and heather. Like many such sites on Dartmoor, it offers insight into how people lived and worked on the moor in the second millennium BC, adapting to the landscape's challenges and resources. The site is best found with map and compass on foot across the open moor.
