Simon Tozer

Simon Tozer was born and raised in Highweek, a village tucked between the South Devon coast and the edge of Dartmoor, and can trace his South Devon ancestry back to the 1500s. A passionate open water swimmer, he finds peace and inspiration in the rivers, lakes and sea of Devon, and Dartmoor's raw and untamed beauty pulses through the heart of his fiction.

Simon published his first novel, Briana and the Saxon Warrior, in 2019, launching the Book of Dumnonia series. In 2021 he began what became the Gateways of the Fey series, starting with Wylde Swimming (later reimagined as An Archway Through Time) and continuing with Dartmoor's Veils of Time. Alongside his fiction, Simon shares his love of Devon's landscape and history through his Swim, Walk & History guides, thoughtful companions to South Devon's beaches and Dartmoor's rivers.

He currently lives in Dawlish, runs an organic loose leaf tea business, and serves his local community as an on-call firefighter.
