Round cairn near Conies Down Tor

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1011457) describes a round cairn on the southern edge of a level plateau. The mound is 24 metres across and up to 1 metre high. A hollow in its south part suggests earlier partial excavation or robbing. A ditch from which material was quarried for the cairn surrounds it. It is partly filled in but survives as an earthwork 3.5 metres wide and 0.2 metres deep on the west and as a buried feature elsewhere. A stone cist with three side stones sits on the north side of the mound, 1.4 metres long by 0.9 metres wide. It lies in the parish of Dartmoor Forest, about 0.8 km west of Devil's Tor.
