Quickbeam Hill

Quickbeam Hill is a small granite tor rising from the open moorland in central Dartmoor. Though modest in height and without the dramatic rock formations of its more famous neighbours, it has the character typical of Dartmoor's higher ground: granite boulders weathered smooth by centuries of exposure, rough turf, and the sense of space that comes with elevation on the moor.
The tor sits in quiet country, away from the main tourist routes. The walk here is gentle moorland walking, rewarding for those who prefer the texture of the plateau itself to the spectacle of a climbing destination. Views extend across the rolling granite landscape and surrounding valleys, particularly fine on clear days when the sense of distance and openness becomes palpable.
