Quickbeam Hill

Quickbeam Hill sits in the middle of Southern Dartmoor at 467 metres. It is a fairly flat summit without much granite character, but it has one real point of interest: the Zeal tramway, which once carried clay from Redlake down to Bittaford, curves around its lower slopes. The Two Moors Way follows the old railway track to the west, making the hill straightforward to reach. Settling tanks on the hill mark the spot clearly, and from here you can see across to Plymouth over the tin workings that scar the surrounding moorland.
