Pound

North of Down Tor lie the remains of a prehistoric pound and several hut circles, a rare concentration of Bronze Age settlement on the open Dartmoor landscape. The pound, a substantial enclosure of stone, likely held livestock, while the nearby hut circles mark the foundations of domestic dwellings.
