Plym Bridge has five semicircular arches in killas rubble, with cutwaters on both sides and the springing of an earlier bridge visible just above the water. Historic England's text says a bridge existed here as early as 1238 on the main road from Tavistock to Plympton. The bridge lies at the foot of the Plym valley, outside the National Park.
It stands in Plymbridge Woods, owned by the National Trust, where peregrine falcons have nested in Cann Quarry since the 1960s and the old South Devon and Tavistock Railway (closed in 1962) is now the Drake's Trail. The Plym Valley Railway runs on a section of the old line.
