This scheduled monument comprises the remains of a partially enclosed settlement of stone hut circles, likely dating to the Bronze Age. The site sits on open moorland typical of Dartmoor's high ground, where such settlements were built to take advantage of grazing land and freshwater sources. The stone foundations of the huts, now low earthworks and rubble, once supported round dwellings with turf or thatch roofs. Two cairns nearby may relate to burial or territorial marking, practices common on the moor during prehistory.
