This scheduled monument preserves a coaxial field system and associated archaeological features scattered across Holne Moor, in the countryside west and north west of Venford Reservoir. The remains likely date to the Bronze Age or later prehistoric periods, when communities organized their land into regular, parallel field divisions. Such systems are characteristic of Dartmoor's long history of settlement and farming.
Today the site is visible as low banks and stone arrangements crossing the moorland, part of the broader pattern of prehistoric and later heritage that shapes the Dartmoor landscape.
