On walking routes: Taw Teign Link, Two Moors Way
Gidleigh Tor sits just off a public path on land surrounded by forestry. It has fine views south-east towards Easdon and Hameldown, with Kes Tor visible on the horizon. The tor is known for its fantastically shaped rock piles, and nearby is the remains of Princep’s Folly, a house built in 1848 but soon abandoned after its owner died suddenly. The uppermost outcrop is particularly striking when viewed from below.
