Gidleigh Tor

Devon

Gidleigh Tor is a straightforward granite peak on the northern reaches of Dartmoor. At 334 metres, it commands the surrounding moorland with the characteristic rocky crown of Dartmoor's tors, offering a good vantage point across the high moor and the valleys that cut into it from the north.

The walk to the tor is accessible from the Gidleigh area and rewards steady moorland walking with widening views. It sits comfortably in the working moor landscape, neither remote nor crowded, and makes a natural stop on longer walks across the northern plateau.
