Enclosure and hut circles in Erme Valley on east side of Stall Moor

This scheduled monument consists of the remains of a prehistoric settlement, likely dating to the Bronze Age, scattered across the eastern flank of Stall Moor above the Erme Valley. The site comprises an enclosure and several hut circles, the characteristic circular stone foundations of roundhouses that once stood here. These earthworks and stone rings are typical of the moorland settlements that dot Dartmoor, testament to Bronze Age communities who farmed and lived on the high ground.
Today the site lies open to the moor, its outlines visible to those who know where to look. The landscape around Stall Moor retains much of its ancient character, and walking here places you in direct contact with the deep past of Dartmoor's human settlement.
