Enclosed hut circle settlement near Leeden Tor

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1008667) describes an enclosed hut circle settlement on the south-facing slope of Leeden Tor, overlooking the valleys of the Walkham and the Meavy. Six stone hut circles can be made out, all circular, 4.2 to 7 metres across, with walls of stone and earth 0.4 to 0.8 metres high. Five are built across the northern line of the enclosure boundary and one is in the middle, and four have doorways you can see. The enclosure wall marks out an oval area 63 metres east to west by 55 metres north to south, a stony bank 0.9 metres wide and 0.2 metres high. It lies in the parish of Walkhampton, about 1 km north of Leather Tor and 3.1 km south-east of Sampford Spiney.

Against the southern length of wall is a round hollow 9.8 metres across and 1.3 metres deep, read as a water catchment basin or reservoir that may be as old as the settlement.
