This scheduled monument is a Bronze Age cairn, a mound of stones raised over a burial, with a stone-built cist (burial chamber) at its centre. The site sits on open moorland north west of Arch Tor, in the kind of exposed high ground where many such monuments cluster across Dartmoor.
