Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1007541) describes an oval cairn on a gentle west-facing slope overlooking Lydford village. The mound lies east to west and measures 4.5 metres long, 3 metres wide and up to 0.25 metres high.
It is the westernmost of four cairns that belong to a cairnfield of twenty-six mounds and a lynchet. Cairnfields like this are usually read as heaps of stone cleared from the ground for cultivation, though some mounds may cover burials.
