Ten cairns and a length of bank

This cairnfield on Homerton Hill is a Bronze Age monument, comprising ten cairns and a section of bank that once formed part of a larger ritual or territorial landscape. Such cairnfields are among Dartmoor's most distinctive prehistoric remains, often sited on high ground where they would have been visible across the moor.

Today the site sits on open moorland, with the cairns and bank still legible in the terrain. These structures represent both practical and symbolic investment in the landscape by communities living here several thousand years ago. The site is a scheduled monument, protecting it as a record of early human settlement and belief on Dartmoor.
