This round cairn sits on the open moorland east of White Tor summit, a Bronze Age burial monument that would have been prominent in the landscape when first built. Like many cairns across Dartmoor, it marks a place of significance to prehistoric communities, though the specific identity of those buried here remains unknown.
Today the cairn survives as a low earthwork among the heather and grass of the high moor. It forms part of a wider pattern of Bronze Age settlement and burial across this area of Dartmoor. The site is accessible to walkers crossing the open ground, with views across the moorland plateau and the surrounding granite landscape.
