Multi-period remains

Grid ref: SX 5888 6590

Hentor Warren holds the layered history of Dartmoor's use across centuries. The scheduled monument here comprises archaeological remains from different periods, evidence of how people have worked and lived on the high moor. The warren itself reflects medieval and later management of the landscape, when such areas were managed for game and other resources.

Today the site is part of the open moorland character of this part of Dartmoor. Visitors walking the warren will find themselves among the traces of that long occupation: earthworks, structures and scattered stones that speak to continuity of use across generations. The landscape itself is the monument, and walking here connects you directly to Dartmoor's working past.

Historic England listed designation: Multi-period remains at Hentor Warren
