Holly Cottage, Lilac Cottage and Pilgrim Cottage form a small settlement whose names reflect the domestic landscape of rural Dartmoor. The buildings are Grade II* listed, indicating their significant historic and architectural interest. Their origins likely lie in the medieval or early modern period, when smallholdings and cottages began to spread across the moorland margins and into sheltered valleys.
