Hedge Down Tor
Devon
Hedge Down Tor is a small granite outcrop rising from the open moorland of central Dartmoor. Its position offers broad views across the moor in most directions, typical of the high ground hereabouts. The walk to it is uncomplicated, following moorland paths with few obstacles.
Like many of Dartmoor's smaller tors, Hedge Down has the quiet character of the moor itself. It is not a dramatic summit, but rather an honest granite feature in the landscape, useful as a wayfinding point and a place to pause and look out across the plateau.
