This scheduled monument comprises the remains of an enclosed prehistoric settlement and a separate round cairn, positioned on open moorland south west of Venford Reservoir dam. The enclosure, marked by banks and ditches, would once have contained dwellings and defined the space where a Bronze Age community lived and worked. The round cairn, a stone burial mound, suggests the settlement's ritual and ceremonial significance within the broader Dartmoor landscape.
Today the site is visible as earthworks across rough moorland, part of the dense scatter of prehistoric remains that characterises this part of Dartmoor.
