Wild Rambling

Wild Rambling is run by Helen Venus, a Hill and Moorland Leader who has guided walks since 2008 and founded the business in 2012. In Helen's words it offers "women-only guided walking holidays across the UK's most beautiful landscapes", "bigger challenges and pure outdoor fun", and "supportive, women-only learning spaces" where women learn to "take control themselves".

Based in Cornwall. Helen lives in far west Cornwall, so Wild Rambling sits outside the Dartmoor area; it is listed here because she runs courses and trips on the moor.

On Dartmoor

• Navigation Refresher Day, Saturday 28 November 2026, 10:00 to 17:00, Princetown. A women-only day for people who want a refresher with map and compass, or practice before a Mountain Training assessment. Maximum 8 places, £65.
• The Wild Adventure Connection: Dartmoor, Friday 13 to Monday 16 August 2027, run with Mel Britton of Outdoor Adventure Connection. Walks, yoga, wild swimming and climbing and bouldering, based at Shallowford Farm hostel in Widecombe in the Moor. £325 per person; a two-night option is available on request.
