Two hut circles near Leeden Tor

These two stone hut circles, positioned 100 metres east of Leeden Tor, are the visible remains of a Bronze Age settlement that once occupied this stretch of moorland. The circles represent the foundations of roundhouses, their stone walls now reduced to low rubble but still legible on the ground. Such settlements were scattered across Dartmoor during the Bronze Age, when the climate was warmer and the moor supported pastoral farming communities.

Today the site sits within the open moorland landscape that defines Dartmoor, a place where prehistoric settlement patterns remain readable for those who know where to look. The hut circles are modest in scale but significant as evidence of how people lived and worked on the moor thousands of years ago.
