Tom Usher

Tom Usher is Chief Executive of the Dartmoor Preservation Association, leading the charity's work on access, conservation and community engagement across the moor. Under his leadership the DPA secured a seat on the Dartmoor Land Use Management Group and launched the Moor Boots grant scheme supporting access projects.

In 2026 Tom launched the Dartmoor Public Access Fund, created from the proceeds of the DPA's successful Supreme Court campaign protecting the right to wild camp on Dartmoor. He said: "We are excited to launch the Dartmoor Public Access Fund in 2026 ... The DPA want to turbo-charge equality of access to Dartmoor National Park ... Knowledge dispels fear, so come and get to know the Moor. You are very welcome."
