Round cairn 25m south of Langstone Moor stone circle

This round cairn lies about 25 metres south of Langstone Moor stone circle, part of the rich concentration of Bronze Age monuments scattered across Dartmoor's high ground. Like many of the moor's cairns, it was built as a burial or ceremonial marker, likely constructed between 2000 and 1500 years before the present.
Today the site remains as a low mound in the heather and grass, best visited as part of a wider walk taking in nearby stone circles and cairn groups. Its modest presence speaks to the long human use of Dartmoor's exposed plateaux, where Bronze Age communities left their mark across the landscape.
