This scheduled monument is a Bronze Age settlement comprising several hut circles, their remains marked by low stone walls. The site lies on the high ground south of Foggintor Quarries, in the open moorland landscape that characterises central Dartmoor. The partial stone enclosure suggests deliberate planning and communal organisation among its inhabitants, though the exact extent and date of occupation remains uncertain.
Today the site is visible as earthworks and stone foundations scattered across the moor. Like many Dartmoor prehistoric settlements, it offers insight into how people lived on the moor thousands of years ago, exploiting the higher ground for shelter and grazing. The surrounding landscape, worked and shaped by both ancient inhabitants and later quarrying, rewards careful walking and observation.
