Middle Venton Farmhouse

Devon

Middle Venton Farmhouse stands as a lasting example of Dartmoor's farming heritage. Built from local stone, the farmhouse shows the solid construction typical of substantial moorland farms, where buildings had to withstand exposed upland conditions and serve as the working heart of agricultural life.

Today the farmhouse remains a private residence, its Grade II* listing reflecting its historical importance. Visitors walking the moor around Venton will encounter it as part of the living landscape of field boundaries, scattered farms and ancient trackways that pattern this corner of Dartmoor, evidence of centuries of habitation and land use.
