King's Barrow is a scheduled monument and Bronze Age round barrow situated on King Tor, overlooking Hookney Down on Dartmoor. Like many of the moor's burial mounds, it dates from the Bronze Age, when communities built such monuments as final resting places for their dead and as enduring markers in the landscape.
Today the barrow remains as an earthwork on the open moorland, a modest but tangible link to Dartmoor's prehistoric past. Visitors walking the high ground here encounter it as countless walkers have, a quiet reminder of the people who lived and died on the moor thousands of years ago.
