Keaglesborough Mine represents the industrial heritage of Dartmoor's tin and copper mining era, likely dating from the medieval period onwards when such workings became widespread across the moor. The mine workings and associated riddle pits (used to process ore) sit alongside Riddipit farmstead, reflecting the dual economy of moorland communities where mining and agriculture sustained each other.
Today the site appears as earthworks and surface features scattered across rough moorland. Visiting involves walking open ground to the north east of Norsworthy Bridge. The landscape here reveals the long occupation and use of Dartmoor by people working its resources, with the old workings now returned to heather and grass.
