This scheduled monument on Erme Plains consists of the earthwork remains of a Bronze Age settlement, with multiple hut circles and an associated enclosure. The site sits on open moorland east of the River Erme, part of the extensive pattern of prehistoric activity across Dartmoor's higher ground.
Today the site appears as subtle banks and hollows in the turf, best read in certain light or after rain. Like many Dartmoor settlements of this period, it reflects how Bronze Age communities used the moor for pastoral farming and seasonal occupation, leaving behind these durable traces of their domestic life.
