Bridestowe Parish Council

Bridestowe is a small village and civil parish on the north-western fringe of Dartmoor, close to Okehampton and Lydford in West Devon. Bridestowe Parish Council is the elected tier of local government for the village, meeting regularly to consider planning applications, manage local amenities, and represent residents' views to West Devon Borough Council and Devon County Council. The council works closely with the Bridestowe Village Hall committee and, alongside neighbouring Sourton Parish Council, has produced a joint Neighbourhood Development Plan covering both communities. The parish's church, St Bridget's, is a Grade II* listed medieval building with 13th- and 15th-century fabric and fragments of earlier Norman work. The council's remit covers everyday civic matters such as street lighting, footpaths, allotments and community buildings, while larger planning and highways decisions rest with the district and county authorities.
