Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1003303) describes a tin mill with a dressing floor close to the source of the West Webburn River. The mill survives as a largely buried structure, with slight earthworks and traces of masonry walls above ground. The building is rectangular, with a wheel pit reached from the north by a substantial leat, and a tailrace leading back to the river. South of the mill are traces of more channels and pits, probably the buried features of a tin dressing floor. It lies in the parish of Widecombe in the Moor, about 1.5 km south of Challacombe.
Documents show a stamping mill at 'Blackaton Ball' before 1556.
