Black Down

Devon

Black Down sits on the higher moorland of northern Dartmoor, with Blacka Tor marking its highest point. The tor's western outcrops are the distinctive granite feature here, typical of Dartmoor's exposed stone. It is a genuine working down rather than a heavily visited spot, with relatively few people having recorded visits to it, which gives you a sense of how remote and uncommercialised the place remains.
