Wild Calm Dartmoor

Postbridge, Devon

Part of Postbridge →

Wild Calm Dartmoor is about immersing yourself in Dartmoor, while leaving space for quiet along the way. Whether we're crossing open moorland, exploring ancient landscapes or settling down for a night beneath the stars, our experiences are unhurried, with time to walk quietly, notice more and fully experience the landscape around you.

In a world that can feel increasingly noisy and busy, we believe that periods of quiet can create valuable space to settle the mind and to reflect and reconnect with ourselves and the natural world.

Rosie Boggis founded Wild Calm Dartmoor and is a qualified Mountain Leader who has spent years walking and exploring the UK's mountains, hills and wild places. She says some of her calmest moments have been spent in the wild, and Wild Calm Dartmoor is about creating the time and space for those moments. James Cullen, a BACP-registered person-centred therapist, joins Rosie on selected experiences.

The experiences described on their website, mostly based around Postbridge:

  • Dartmoor After Dark: explore Dartmoor after dark, stargaze beneath the night sky and discover ancient Bronze Age settlements, stone circles and cists. An evening walk of about 4 km.
  • Contemplative Silent Walks: step away from the noise and reconnect with yourself and the landscape through mindful walking, peaceful silence and moments of stillness. A day walk of 10 to 15 km.
  • Into the Quiet: a women's winter retreat, 29 to 31 January 2027, in a country house at Postbridge with two days of guided winter walking past Bronze Age stone circles and rows, an optional sunrise walk, meals from a private chef and exclusive use of Dartmeet Wilder Sauna.

Dates, prices and booking are on their website, which is the place to check before you plan a trip.
