Milestone, SX 529 752

This milestone stands beside one of the ancient ways that cross Dartmoor, part of the network of routes that connected settlements and markets across the moor and beyond. Built from local stone, such markers once guided travellers on foot, horseback and cart along roads where landmarks were sparse and distance hard to judge.
