Kingsett Down

Devon

Kingsett Down is a low granite tor set in the open moorland of central Dartmoor. Though its height is modest, the peak commands good views across the rolling plateau, with clear sightlines over the surrounding grassland and heather. The tor itself is a simple rocky outcrop, characteristic of Dartmoor's granite landscape.

The walk to Kingsett Down is uncomplicated moorland walking from nearby tracks and paths. There are no major obstacles, making it a reasonable destination for a shorter moorland circuit. The area around the down is typical open moor, with few distinctive landmarks nearby, so navigation requires attention to compass and contours rather than navigation by prominent features.
